The Plan:
The Meadows at Bailey Canyon
The underutilized southern portion of the Monastery property creates the opportunity for a proposed 3-acre public park for Sierra Madre residents and 42 single-family homes. The Retreat Center will continue to host spiritual programs and the open space to the north of the retreat center will be dedicated to the City of Sierra Madre as permanently preserved open space.
The Meadows also proposes a direct connection between the new public park and Bailey Canyon Wilderness Park, providing enhanced connectivity in the area.
The design will preserve Sierra Madre’s history. Several architectural firms have been tasked with ensuring highly diverse variable and high-quality designs that reflect Sierra Madre’s home design heritage, and local experts with experience in Sierra Madre are going to be used throughout the project.
